Phind

Phind was a browser-based AI assistant focused on research-style question answering. It ran in a chat interface where you could hold threaded conversations and later review them in a unified history view. The product appeared to target general users and professionals who needed help with web-enabled research and high-effort reasoning tasks.

According to the current interface labels, Phind distinguished between a “research model” and an “implementation model”, and supported modes such as web search, deep research, and maximum reasoning. Users could choose from Phind’s own models (Phind Fast, Phind Large) as well as third‑party models listed in the UI (GPT‑5.2, Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.5, Gemini 3 Pro for implementation). Access was via the web, with sign-in through Google, GitHub, or email.

Phind is no longer an active product. The homepage explicitly states that the service shut down on January 16, 2026, subscriptions have been refunded, and all user data will be permanently deleted on January 30, 2026. Existing users are prompted to download their chat history before that date, but new users should treat Phind as a discontinued tool rather than something you can adopt today.

From the remaining UI, it’s clear that Phind offered web search, deep research, and high‑reasoning modes on top of multiple large language models, with daily usage limits (e.g., separate quotas for research and implementation queries). However, there is no accessible documentation explaining how the different models were orchestrated, what “implementation” specifically did, or what kinds of external actions beyond web search it could take. Pricing details and plan structure are not publicly available anymore, aside from a note that there were subscriptions that have since been refunded. If you need an actively maintained AI research assistant, you will need to look for an alternative; Phind is now only relevant for users who still need to export their past conversations.
